Dragged Claire into town today because I needed her for something. While we were there we treated ourselves to some magazines, which is a rare treat these days. We had also had a hankering for scones, and had been meaning to make some, so when I realised I did in fact have money left on my M&S gift card, we made a detour via their delicious fresh cake aisle. And bought these babies.
Mmm, scones with jam and cream. I was using Claire's fixed lens and without thinking I focused in the middle (my pretty Cath Kidston mug, a birthday present from Stéphie) when really I expect it would have made more sense to move the focus point to the delicious scones in the foreground. No matter - this picture is not about perfect technique but rather about conveying the cozy feeling of sitting down to the restorative virtues of a cream tea....
The magazines I bought are the wonderful new "Vintage Life", O Magazine and Turning Pro, three completely different genres but all right up my street. After traipsing around town I really enjoyed putting my feet up, with the cat bien sûr, and perusing my mags whilst sipping on my tea. Bliss.
As soon as that was done, though, I had to jump to and get the cottage pie on the go for dinner. It smells delicious so now I just have to wait for the OH to come through the door and we are ready for supper.
Bon appétit tout le monde !
Delicious!
