Well, with the week I've had, I've had to seriously think about where I want to go from here. I love the people I work with at the hospital but having begged for a sign from God I have had two: redundancy from the corporate world and a brain haemorrhage. I don't think I need a third sign to know that I should be concentrating my efforts on doing something worthwhile with my life! I had started training to be a life coach, and I still intend to pursue this when I am able, but the main thing I really REALLY want to be doing is taking children's photos. I want people to smile when they see my pictures and to get paid to do that will be beyond a dream.
The other day I went to moo.com to order some new business cards so that I can hand them out when I see people with beautiful babies (smile!), and just doing that took me ages and left me wiped out. However, I know I need to start taking baby steps towards my shiny new future, so I'm doing a little each day. I am also working on a new photo blog to showcase my kiddie pictures, and I'll give you a link to it soon. Petit à petit l'oiseau fait son nid.....*
I'm just waiting for Claire to get back from making the quickest 40 quid of her life! Her shop got a call from some French people who needed a photographer to come and help them take video at a wedding rehearsal dinner tonight. They came to pick her up, but when they got to the venue they realised it was too small to have three people in the room and that they'd manage without her. They are sending her home in a taxi with £40 in her pocket - about ten will pay for the cab and the rest is hers. I've told her she needs to schmooze them in case she can get any professional tips :)
Here is the venue - The Grove. Gorgeous place, I've eaten there several times.
*bit by bit, the bird builds its nest
I'd pay you to take piccies of my (big) babies if you were this way.
I truly wish you every success for the future.
Way to go Claire.
Have a wonderful weekend xxx
