I had an interesting meeting today, via the Job Centre. The lady I saw explained that they are working with the Shaw Trust to get people off ESA and back to work. She was very sweet and when I explained about the SAH and brain surgery in Feb she said it was still early days - music to my ears! That's what the doctors say but I didn't know if the Job Centre would agree!! I took the boyf with me because a) I don't go out alone at the moment and b) I forget what I'm told... So it was very positive; she said I might get called to a medical, but they might just go on what the doctors say. She also said that there are a total of 6 interviews to go to but they might put the first one off a bit until I am a bit stronger. We agreed that my "aim" is to recover and return to work eventually, but that I have to take a bit longer.
After the meeting I said to W that I was desperate for a Starbucks cos I haven't had one since the "event" so we walked down to the bottom of town and had coffee and a teeny portion of cake (for me) and a huge chunk of carrot cake (for him). I had promised Claire I'd pop in and see her at Jessops where she works, so I did. Then W and I had a salad in M&S so I could sit down, and I caught a taxi home. I collapsed on the sofa for a while but I'm feeling ok now!
It was LOVELY to get out of the house for once.
