So much for "back to the grindstone"! I was in too much pain Monday morning, even though I had my shower and got as far as getting dressed, I could hardly walk and I knew the commute would be too much. I made an appointment for the osteopath first thing Tuesday, thinking I could go to the office afterwards, but he had other ideas. He thought the commute and long day at the office would negate all his hard work, so he signed me off for another couple of days. I went home and went back to bed. Going to the osteopath always makes you feel a bit sore and tired, and yesterday was no exception. In fact I felt quite unwell. So, after breaking the news to my colleague and texting my boss, I stayed in the warm, with a hot water bottle and ibuprofen gel on my back. I had another bad night, every turn feeling like a knife in the lower back, and rested up at home today too, although I did venture out this afternoon to have an overdue blood test done at the hospital where I used to work, which is literally a 3 minute walk from my house. Although my back is no longer in spasm, it's blimmin painful, for the first time in over a year. And I thought I was done with back problems...
Ooh and I forgot - Monday we hobbled (well, I hobbled, DD wondered why I was walking slowly. Duh) over to Slimming World to get weighed in. We didn't stay because those chairs are not the most comfortable, but I was pleased to have lost 2 1/2 lbs. I'm still a bit short of my lowest-ever-weight-for-donkeys-years, and I can't wait to pass the 3 stone mark. I'll really feel I'm getting somewhere then. Will Easter scupper my plans? I hope not!
Well, I'm off. Sitting here is not the most comfortable position, and I've got a couple of books to finish, not to mention a new Good Housekeeping that I've received as I signed up to be on a readers' panel... Nite all.
