Seems our recent visitor didn't really believe us at 1am this morning... because he came back tonight! At about 6pm the bell went, I stood at the door asking who it was through the glass. No answer. Repeat the question. "Shah?". Oh no! I recognised the voice, and seeing as he was totally harmless last time, I opened to door and was instantly repelled by the fumes. I told him in no uncertain terms this was not Mr Shah's house, and asked if he came by last night. He said yes, and kind of apologised, although his grasp of the English language was not the best. I told him to go away; that the police had said if he came back he'd be arrested. That shook him, and with much "no, no, no police" he tried to shake my hand! I declined. And decided to call the police anyway, because he was obviously drunk and who knows how many times he'd try and come back. They were really good, came really quickly, and then DD and I got to drool over the dishy Sergeant with gorgeous eyes (hehe!) who came to explain they were taking him in to a) establish his identity and b) let him sober up in the cells. He said they were keen to "deal with him positively" this time to send the message that this was unacceptable behaviour. Turns out he's fallen out with his "girlfriend" (the Monika we were told about), and he wants her back, but he has obviously no idea where she lives! He'll get a fine and then it will be on record so if he comes back they can whisk him away again. I said I felt bad, that he obviously had a problem and I didn't want him to go to prison. Mr Handsome laughed and said "no one goes to prison any more - at least, not for that". This is such a quiet neighbourhood, you know....
Take care Jen xxxx
