Well, I said the run up to Christmas would be busy! Yesterday I had the day off but went up to the office with DD for 5.30pm, where I was presented with a beautiful Elemis spa candle by the Treasury Director (what a sweet thought!), and met up with my colleagues to go skating at the Tower of London. Only, we got there to discover that someone had been injured on the ice and they were waiting for an ambulance to come and pick him/her up! No one was allowed on the ice at all, and we stood in line with our skates on, wondering if we were ever going to be allowed on. Eventually, the colleagues gave up, asked for their money back and said they'd meet us in the pub, but DD and I stoically refused to give in. The rink had water on it in the middle, which was a bit scary, but we took turns to go round (one of us had to mind the bags...). DD did one or two I think, but I went round loads of times, getting more and more bold as time went on. It's been such a long time since I skated, plus I badly injured my knee taking figure skating lessons when I was 18, so I've been a bit reticent ever since. I always love it when I do go, though, and last night was no exception. One of my friends stayed to have a drink by the rink, and said I looked in my element, ha ha!
Luckily, no bones were broken, but DD and I were exhausted after that, so we went straight home - it's no fun hanging around in pubs when you don't drink, so I just called my friends to say we'd give it a miss.
Today I was up bright and early to be at Waterloo by 9.15am, for a visit to this lovely place in Hampshire. We were given champagne (or orange juice) on arrival, and whisked off on a whirlwind tour of the place... with our glasses LOL. Lisa, the Sales Director who took us round, is a lovely and chatty American lady, who did a fantastic job. We then had a delicious "festive" lunch and coffee, before three of the ladies left to go back to London. I and another girl stayed to partake of the spa facilities. And what facilities! We swam and used the hydrotherapy pool and relaxed and it was marvellous. I could definitely get used to living like that.
I got home just before 9pm and had my first official coaching session with a client at 9.15pm. I think it went very well indeed - I hope she did too!! We set a short-term goal and I really hope she finds it useful. We have 6 sessions planned, so hopefully we'll make some real progress on getting her to her goal, and it will be a privilege to help in some way.
Right, I'm just going to check out my emails, then it's off to bed, because DD and I are off to London again in the morning to brave the hordes of Christmas shoppers. We must be mad!
