Why does time fly like that? This weekend we were quite busy, starting with a film on Friday night, just me and the other half (a proper, actual date! Unbelievable...). Ok, so seeing Iron Man was not high on my "to do" list, but that was the only one we could agree on; no chick flicks for my oh so virile man! Actually, it was good fun, so I did enjoy it. We also had a meal at Ask.... which is probably why I gained another half pound this week. Drat. I was doing so well. More of that later.
On Saturday I had my hair cut and did a spot of shopping to buy some new shoes and a few cheapie clothes to tide me over till I lose more weight. Then, on Sunday DD and I went to Cassiobury Park to see if she could get any useful pictures for her final project, as there was a huge picnic organised by the churches of Watford. There was a stage, and when we got there this young man was playing guitar and singing, and then other people came on and there was quite a lot of cool "Christian Rock". They were from Soul Survivor, which is where DD's old "best friend" goes. I would really be interested in going to one of their services. My favourite church is Our Lady's in Rickmansworth, but we haven't been for ages because we have to get the bus there now we've moved. And I'm not at my best early on a Sunday morning....
So on to yesterday evening; after sitting in the glorious sunshine at the park we went to get weighed. DD decided to join too, which is really nice because we'll be able to support each other. I think she has a couple of stone to lose, but I'm not sure, it all depends on how she feels. I had gained again, so I was slightly upset, but really I just know I have to get back on the programme, properly that is. And write everything down - it's the only way. Tonight I made my fave Slimming World "quiche", which is made with a packet of Pasta 'n Sauce, a tub of cottage cheese and two eggs. Make up the pasta as directed, then put it in the bottom of your quiche pan. Mix two eggs up with the cottage cheese, at which point it looks really disgusting. Pour over the pasta and, if you want to use a couple of syns, sprinkle with the tiniest amount of gruyère. Then put it in the oven for about 20 mins, or until brown on top. It's nice hot, but it's also really nice cold, when the pasta base has solidified to replace the traditional pastry. Yum and completely FREE on a green day, and I can have it for lunch tomorrow.
