Having crept out of bed at 8.30 to get a coffee and hot cross buns, I went back up to snuggle under the duvet with the cats until it was a bit of a more reasonable hour to get up on a holiday. (those buns are 9 syns each, so I'd kind of blown my syn budget for the day by 9am!)
I'm reading another Philippa Gregory book, completely in the wrong order, but it doesn't matter. This one is about Catherine of Aragon and I'm loving it. Which reminds me, we really must check out The Other Boleyn Girl at the cinema before it stops playing!
Later on I had to go into town, leaving DD to watch the ice skating championships - I would have loved to watch with her, but there was food to be bought... I've always been an ice skating fan, in fact I seriously damaged my right knee practising moves for my ice skating class when I was 18. To make up for this morning, when I got home I checked out YouTube and found some beauties. Anyone who watches Dancing on Ice knows that Robin Cousins is one of the judges. For me, he was the guy who could do amazing jumps and make them appear so effortless; and who could do the splits in the air with legs that looked six feet long. So I was delighted to come across this oldie:
I also found this montage of Gordeeva and Grinkov which made me happy and sad at the same time. They look so in love with each other, but Grinkov later died of a massive heart attack at the tender age of 28, which is just heartbreaking. Anyway, enjoy!
Happy Easter my friend! :D
That's a way to wake up! :D YUm!!!
