So it's Saturday. And time for our little trip into town to see the exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery. Perfect weather for museum visiting, as it was cold and grey. Trafalgar Square was still teeming with people, though. I don't think it's ever empty! The museum was very busy, and we had a look round the recent portraits on the ground floor before going to the Vanity Fair exhibition. Boy was it hot in there! I loved all the early black & white stuff, it reminded me of the pictures my grandfather used to take. One of my favourites was this one, of Joan Crawford and Douglas Fairbanks Jr:
Not a brilliant reproduction, but there you go.
On our way out of the museum I took my 365 self-portrait, and this one - waiting until a London cab got in the shot...
We walked back to the Tube via Leicester Square, and then turned right into Chinatown, to see if we could find a grocers where we could find some oriental goodies. You can see the pictures on my flickr.
So then it was homeward bound and home in time for dinner. I'm rather tired now, so off to bed. Hope you are having a nice weekend too!
