Just one happy bunny

You know, I might be broke, I might not own a house or car, but I am happy. I can't wait to go on holiday on Monday - and thank the Lord that I still have a momma to go "home" to!  I can't wait to see just how much progress she has made since February. To go and sit on the beach - or not, depending on the weather. Just to chill and hang out with my girl, my sister and my mother. Fantastic!   This is where we are going. I just love how close it is to the beach - you can run home to get a drink or go to the loo, or get a book, or the sunscreen you forgot to take.... It's been my mum's house since 1983 and I LOVE IT!  Nearly every year we've been there for Claire's birthday, and nearly all the photos of her on the beach in the middle of August show NO OTHER PEOPLE nearby.  What is all the fuss about the South of France? Give me Normandy any day.   And when we get bored of the beach or the garden, there's the whole coast to explore, the D-Day landing beaches (ours is Juno, where Canadians and Brits landed), the cemeteries, the museums, the Aquarium in the next town, the port, the markets, the countryside.... When Claire was little we took her to the stables and she'd always get some riding in while she was there. *sigh*  Family memories are all tied up in this place.   Can you tell I'm excited?

I'm just hoping the dentist can do something for this toothache tomorrow. I'm supposed to be picking up my occlusion splint but the toothache has got worse since he changed the filling, and he thought I might have to have root canal treatment.... I hope not!  Anyway, there's not much to wipe the smile off my face at the moment!  Oh, and it's Bastille Day tomorrow. Maybe we should buy some baguette and cheese and celebrate it with a French-style lunch?  I'll think about it LOL

Looks like a lovely beach . . . pity about the yukky seaweed. my mum and Dad live on the seafront too and it really pongs sometimes!
