My goodness what a day! Claire's parent-teacher thingy went well. They love her but she is 'too quiet' and 'laid back' (her IT teacher wants her to drink Red Bull!). She is not getting the results she could, so a little bit of effort is required, but it was nice to hear that they feel she will do well if she just keeps focused.
When I got home, two surprises: One, a call from Venture, which I thought was to say my photo is ready, but no, it was to call me to an interview next Friday! Excited, moi?? I had clicked on the 'careers' button on their website and saw they need an Exhibition Rep. Not sure what it entails, but it requires a bubbly personality and to enthuse about the products. Not a problem! The pay's probably not much, so we'll see what happens next week. Two, a call from one of the agencies I'm with, and they have a good position in London with a large engineering firm (I shall keep schtum on the name for the moment). They'll send off my cv.... It's all go!
Hi to my lurkers. And non-lurkers! Heather and Madds among others, lovely to hear from you :)
Claire sounds like an older version of Becca - she is so bright but doesn't push herself and they always say she could be brilliant if she wasn't so laid back :) Good luck with the job interveiw with Venture - is sounds fab :)
