I have been making the most of the weather before it turns - after all, it IS September. I have been reading in the garden (I'm on book no. 3 already), but this afternoon I decided to take the deckchair to the beach to read there instead. After all, it's only a minute's walk, so not like I had to carry it very far. I went into the garage first and picked up an old straw hat that was hanging on a nail, to protect my poor head and English Rose complexion from the fierce sun.
First, the Still Life composition because I am une artiste:

Before I sat down I went and had a paddle, with my navy blue linen trousers rolled up to my calves, my battered straw hat on my head, I wandered through the shallows, occasionally bending down to pick up an interesting pebble, or to snap a pic on the iPhone. I giggled to myself because I can well imagine what I looked like: an eccentric middle-aged lady wandering alone by the water's edge...

Then I caught sight of my tatt and thought, well, probably not your average middle-aged woman then. And then I thought how people might be shocked if they saw it. Not shocked like "omigod she has a tattoo", but "wow she's a bit different". Yes, the sun was beating down and I think it was going to my head a bit.
So I went and had a sit down and a read. I'm loving my latest foray into Dorothy Koomson's world. She always has me hooked from the first page. This time there was a rather explicit sex scene in the first chapter, which I don't remember her doing in previous books, but hey, it was integral to the plot!!

Every so often I'd stop and gaze out to sea

That's all for today...

I especially love the one you took looking through your sunglasses. WOW. That is impressive. Wish I'd thought of that.
